STIs and HIV
We provide educational programs about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV.
For those who contract these diseases, we provide investigational follow-up, and in many cases labs and testing.
STI Testing Includes:
- HIV
- Syphilis
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
STI Treatment:
All cases of HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia are required to be reported to a local health department. All lab-confirmed STI cases can be treated for gonorrhea and chlamydia, at minimal cost, at the Lafayette County Health Department by appointment. This includes the individual who tested positive and their partner.
What to expect: A nurse will be in touch after a report is received. All persons must bring a list of medications and allergies. Please eat 30 minutes before your appointment and do not consume any alcoholic beverages. A photo ID must be presented for STI. testing and treatment.
